Firth Park Methodist Church - The Church on the Roundabout
Firth Park Methodist Church, which opened in 1911, stands at the heart of the community on the corner of Stubbin Lane and Sicey Avenue.
We are a Christian faith community with a long history of caring for people of all ages. We provide not just rooms for the community but groups that offer love and care - from our uniform organisations, 'Food for Thought' providing affordable meals for all, to the Entertainments Society, as well as providing a place of worship, prayer and fellowship.
We have recently, with church and circuit funding, re-roofed part of the church roof to ensure it is watertight. Our next step in the redevelopment of the church is to divide into two the interior of the large worship space. This will provide a Soft Play facility in one area and the creation of a Community/Worship cohesion space in the second area. We are applying for grants from various fund making organisations and, to date, we have been successful in receiving funds from Sheffield Methodist District, Sheffield Methodist Circuit, National Lottery Awards for All, Hunter Rowe Trust, J G Graves Charitable Trust, Sheffield Town Trust, Allchurches Trust and Sheffield City Council. We are also, until October 2018, benefitting from the Co-op Local Community Fund.
